Many of these growers have been partners with the Old Dutch family for years and are an integral part of the reputation of excellence and commitment to quality Old Dutch has always stood by.

MV COLLETTE FARMS

Grafton, North Dakota

MV Collette Farms is a family-owned farm located at 15677 66th Street NE in rural Grafton, North Dakota and is celebrating 75 years of farming and potato production in 2024.

The farm was established in 1949 by Merlyn V. Collette, who retired in 1984 and passed away in 2007. Since 1984, the farm has been operated by Dale M. Collette. In 2003, Jud Molstad married Dale and Brenda’s daughter Apryl and they joined the farm operation in 2006. Jud and Apryl have a daughter, Chloe, who is a sophomore at the University of Minnesota studying Kinesiology and Pre Med, and a 12-year-old son, Christian, who enjoys soccer and hockey.

MV Collette Farms has been growing potatoes for Old Dutch through Valley Marketing Group for over 40 years. MV Collette Farms also grows sugar beets, pinto beans and spring wheat.

GLD FARMS

Hoople, North Dakota

GLD Farms is a 3,500-acre operation raising potatoes, wheat, corn, and soybeans.

GLD Farms was formed in 1980 by LaVoy Olson and his sons, Gene and Doug. In its first year, we raised 80 acres of potatoes. LaVoy’s youngest son, Mark, joined the farm in 1991 after graduating from college. Today, the farm has grown to include a second generation of farmers. Gene’s son, Jeff, is now in the operation as well as Doug’s son, Bryan. Both Jeff and Bryan’s families reside in Hoople. GLD Farms is currently in its 44th year of growing potatoes.

We are proud of the products raised on our farm and committed to providing excellent potatoes to Old Dutch Foods, Inc.

SCHMIEDING PRODUCE

Headquartered in Springdale, Arkansas

Schmieding Produce is a family-owned business with over 70 years of experience as a supplier of chip potatoes to the snack industry.

Headquartered in Springdale, Arkansas, they have growing operations across the United States, including Minnesota, Wisconsin, North Dakota, Michigan, Florida, North Carolina, Missouri, Indiana, Illinois, New Jersey, Maine, New York, Arizona, and Canada.

With a network of 13 grower partners and over 20,000 acres of potato production, Schmieding Produce continues to be a reliable and quality-focused supplier. Notably, they have been proud partners of Old Dutch for over 30 years, providing them with exceptional chip potatoes primarily out of their Midwest growing operations.

THE SPUD COMPANY

Marathon, Wisconsin

The Spud Company, owned by Brandon Rattray, is a major potato supplier with operations in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Texas, Arizona, and Colorado. They specialize in chip potatoes, red and yellow potatoes, and mini potatoes, offering both conventional and organic options. With a total of 8,000 acres of production across five states and 30 years of experience, The Spud Company is a well-established player in the potato industry. Their commitment to quality is demonstrated by their Global GAP certification.

This is The Spud Company’s first year growing potatoes for Old Dutch and is part of an initiative to bring more Minnesota-grown potatoes to Old Dutch.

CLEAR VALLEY FARMS

Clear Lake, Minnesota

Clear Valley Farms is a family-owned business located in Clear Lake, Minnesota, and has been dedicated to potato farming for over 40 years.

Brian and Clayton Goenner, father and son, are the current owners and operators of the farm. With a total of 1,500 acres, they grow potatoes, beans, and corn.

Notably, Clear Valley Farms is one of the few potato growers in Minnesota specializing in producing chip potatoes, demonstrating their expertise and commitment to quality. Clear Valley Farms is part of an initiative to bring more Minnesota-grown potatoes to Old Dutch.
